Ⅰ.Common Faults & Basic Solutions

1.Rotary power head lacks torque and rotates weakly 

Causes: Insufficient or contaminated hydraulic oil; improper pressure setting of multi-way valve; leakage of hose fittings and worn sealing rings.

Solutions: Check oil level and replace deteriorated hydraulic oil; recalibrate working pressure; inspect all high-pressure hoses and replace damaged seals to eliminate pressure loss.

2. Stuck feed chain, unsmooth feeding & retracting 

Causes: Mud and gravel stuck on chain, insufficient lubrication; improper chain tension; sediment piled on guide rail.

Solutions: Clean impurities on the chain and apply grease; adjust chain tension; regularly clear sediment on the frame guide rail.

3. Hydraulic system overheats rapidly 

Causes: Blocked radiator; mismatched hydraulic oil viscosity; long-time overloaded continuous operation.

Solutions:Clean dust on air radiator; adopt manufacturer-recommended hydraulic oil; avoid long-time full-load operation.

4. Water leakage at drill rod connection, low drilling efficiency

Causes:  Worn water seal, blocked water supply pipeline; worn thread of drill rods.

Solutions: Replace aging water seal and clear water channel; repair or replace worn drill rods, apply thread grease before connection.

5. Slow response of control valves 

Causes: Valve spool blocked by impurities in hydraulic oil; air trapped inside pipelines.

Solutions: Replace hydraulic oil and filter elements, bleed air from hydraulic circuit; prevent sediment entering hydraulic components.

Ⅱ. Standard Daily Maintenance Requirements

14. Pre-operation Inspection (Every Day)

1. Check hydraulic oil level and oil condition; inspect all high-pressure hoses and fittings for leakage.
2. Check fasteners of power head and feed chain; confirm chain lubrication.
3. Test control valves to ensure normal rotation, feeding and retracting movement.
4. Inspect water supply system and guarantee smooth flushing water.

14. Post-shift Maintenance (Every Day)

1. Wash the rig frame, chain and power head with clean water to remove mud and stones.
2. Fill grease on chain, drill rod threads and rotary bearings.
3. Store drilling tools neatly in dry area; cover the machine to avoid rain when working outdoors.

14. Periodic Maintenance

1. After 200 working hours: Replace hydraulic filter, inspect all sealing parts.
2. After 500 working hours: Fully replace hydraulic oil, clean hydraulic tank and radiator.
3. For long-term storage: Drain residual water in pipelines, implement anti-rust treatment for metal parts and disconnect power unit.
