The XDD-110 portable DTH drilling rig from Xingda was deployed to a highway construction site for drilling horizontal drainage holes for subgrade. After borehole completion, drainage pipes will be embedded inside the holes to drain accumulated water within the road subgrade. This effectively mitigates groundwater erosion, maintains longterm subgrade stability, and lowers risks such as pavement settlement and slope sliding.

This portable DTH rig is available in two versions: motor-driven XDH-110 and diesel-powered XDD-110. Adopting a modular split-structure design, the rig features light weight and easy disassembly & transportation without heavy lifting machinery. It can access narrow working zones on highway slopes where large-size rigs cannot reach. The drilling angle is adjustable from 10° to 90°, perfectly matching horizontal drainage drilling requirements. It delivers maximum torque of 980N·m, maximum drilling depth up to 40 m, and hole diameter ranging from 76 mm to 150 mm, suitable for various road-related boreholes including drainage holes, anchor holes and grouting holes.

On-site operation shows stable performance and high drilling efficiency. Modular components allow separate manual transportation, adapting well to limited working space along highway slopes and minimizing disturbance to existing traffic. Beyond highway subgrade drainage projects, this rig is widely used in municipal slope stabilization, highway reinforcement, geohazard mitigation and small-scale rock drilling for mining.
