Main Machine

Instructions for the Main Machine:

1. Foot Clamp

It is in the structure of clamping or releasing hydraulic chuck with two cylinders pushing the taper sleeve. It is in the function as: ① To work together with drill head, the clamp can hold rod for making-up and breaking-out. ② There is a centralizer to control the rod for its reliability to guarantee the drilling hole well.  

2. Mast Assembly

It is a box shape structure. There is a cylinder in the box and a fore-chain and rear chain and fore-chain-wheel and rear-chain-wheel in side. A speed multiplication transmission system is made with the cylinder, chains and chain-wheels. There are flat guides on the mast, and there are clamp installed at the front of the mast. The guides can make the drill head movement in stability.

3. Machine Frame

It is consists of one swing arm and base. It is in the most stable tri-angle framework with under installation of dual hydraulic cylinders structure. The swing arm is controlled by hydraulic cylinders for its movement (in vertical way), and it is controlled and operated manually for its horizontal movement, i.e. releasing the four pressure plates(not allowed to have them removed) and fixed or compacted tightly after their properly adjustment.

4. Drill Head

It is driven by hydraulic motors and controlled for its rotation speed hydraulically in mechanical two shifts top driving structure. It is in the function of adjustable of motor speed, working together with foot clamp for drill rod making and breaking or tightening. A speed device installed at the drill head base for the easy speed adjustment. The extension or retraction of cylinder piston bar in the mast is driven by chain for its moving forward or backward of the drill head.

9. Crown block 

This part is for rope guiding device for wireline winch.

11. Wireline winch

Wireline winch is for lifting the core barrel assembly in coring drilling.

Power Unit

6. Power Unit Assembly

It consists of four tires and frame rack with steering organization, there are oil tank, power distribution box, water cooling device and power assembly installed in side.  

7. Power Assembly

The power assembly is consisted of direct connected triple-hydraulic pump, front-pump, mid-pump and rear-pump. The front pump provides hydraulic liquid to the drill head motor and auxiliary and motor speed adjustment device to provide pressure oil for motor rotation and auxiliary winch lifting. The mid-pump provides pressure oil to feeding cylinder for its fast feeding, to foot clamp, to mixer, swing cylinder and mast movement cylinder. The rear-pump provides pressure oil to feeding cylinder for its feeding operation.

5. Hydraulic System

Adopted the famous brands of hydraulic components made in China to form an operation system to control each hydraulic component for its operation action. In the documents, the hydraulic system consists of hydraulic scheme and pipeline arrangement.

Adopting the advanced hydraulic system of load-sensitive, proportional control in the design for HYKD-5A Full Hydraulic Underground Drill Rig, with feedback of loading-sensitive system of the hydraulic system, the pump displacement can be adjusted to the best state.

6. Control Panel

It consists of position instrument, indication device, hydraulic control valve and control valve. They are used for monitoring and control of the hydraulic system.

10. Mud Pump

BW-160 mud pump is driven by hydraulic motor.The mud pump section is the main corollary equipment of the rig.
